How to Make Masks – Making Your Own Masks
As a KG and early years teacher, I would like to bring to the world’s attention that there are some educational and fun websites that are worth their weight in gold. I have found an invaluable mask making website at www.masketeers.com which I will use again and again to create cut out masks for my classes – especially just before Halloween, birthdays and other celebrations. In fact, even adults can use this site for fancy dress parties!
On this site there is a huge selection of colourful and funny animal face masks that will ensure the whole class will be both interested and motivated in learning about the world of the animal kingdom. It is an unbelievable opportunity for teachers and parents to give children a learning experience using the skills of art and craftmaking that will stay with them for their entire lifetime.
Farm animal masks on this site like cows, pigs and sheep are great to use, for example, with children’s favourite song, “Old MacDonald had a farm…” but if you use some of the other fun animal masks such as lion, tiger, crocodile, hippo, zebra or panda – then you’d better change the word ‘farm’ to ‘zoo’ or ‘jungle’!
This website, www.masketeers.com is fun for all ages, from students to teachers to parents – plus the headmistress or headmaster also!
KG and early years students can benefit from both teachers and parents visiting this site, as there are lots of printable animal masks that can be downloaded in colour or in black and white completely free of charge. There is no membership fee and everything on this website is child friendly, educational and fun! What’s more, new masks are being added regularly to ensure visitors to the website find something to suit their needs.
For teachers, these free downloadable and printable fun masks can be included in lesson plans. Students can colour them in themselves and wear them in a fun for all classroom activity lesson. It has never been so easy to get kids masks that can be printed out completely free of charge and which provide hours of fun and educational stimulation that will make parents proud of their children’s art and mask making skills.
The site will not only feature animal masks, as part of the website’s future development plan includes the introduction and inclusion of robot and alien masks, and many more.
Masketeers.com is an exceptional addition to my curriculum and I am positive that one visit will never be enough for anyone. Unbelievably, downloads and printouts are free – no fee and no lengthy registration process. Just visit, choose your masks then hit the save and print buttons. Your children will love you for it!
It’s as easy as A B C. Bookmark the address, share it with your peers, but most of all use www.masketeers.com to its full potential to give your class exactly what they need and their parents want – fun, motivation and a happy start to any child’s journey towards a successful education.
